AI SEO agency: win the answer, not the click.

Your buyers ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overview for a recommendation, then act on the handful of names that come back. Traditional SEO gets you ranked. AI SEO gets you cited. We measure exactly where you stand across all five AI engines, then engineer the content, sources, and signals that put you in the answer.

§01: AI SEO, defined in one line

Traditional SEO ranks pages.
AI SEO gets you cited.

AI engines don’t hand back ten links anymore. They read the web, synthesize one answer, and cite a few sources. AI SEO — also called Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO — is the practice of becoming one of those cited sources.

It shares a technical foundation with SEO and diverges on everything above it. You still need both. Only one of them is where your buyers now start.

§02: What AI SEO services include

Six moves
in every AI SEO engagement.

Most engagements run all six together — they’re designed to. You can scope a single one if that’s where the gap is. Each links to how we run it.

§03: Why Geology, not a traditional SEO agency

Most agencies guess at AI.
We measure it, then ship.

The reason AI SEO usually disappoints is structural: the agency shipping the content has no instrument to see whether AI engines picked it up. We built one. Software plus done-for-you, not a dashboard you’re left to operate or a deck with no data behind it.

§03.01 · The platform

We can see the AI answer. Most agencies can’t.

Geology tracks your citation share across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews every week. Every fix is briefed from what the data shows, and every result is checked against it. You’re never paying for content and hoping.

§03.02 · The team

The people who read the data ship the fixes.

No junior hand-off, no four-vendor sprawl. One senior team owns measurement and execution on a weekly cadence, against one dashboard. GEO, technical SEO, content, and off-site citations run as a single program instead of four disconnected retainers.

§04: How an engagement runs

Five moves,
every AI SEO engagement.

  1. §04.01

Map your real prompt set across five engines.

Not a keyword-tool dump. The 80–200 prompts your buyers type into ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews, segmented by funnel stage and persona, scored by where you stand today.

  2. §04.02

Fix the source pages AI lifts from.

Schema, llms.txt, parser-friendly markup, and the specific URLs the engines already cite. Most brands have a strong product and a citation-unfriendly site. This layer unlocks everything above it.

  3. §04.03

    Own the comparison real estate.

Your /vs, /alternatives, and use-case pages, written and ranked — plus the Reddit and review-site threads where the shortlist actually gets decided.

  4. §04.04

    Earn the third-party citations.

AI trusts sources more than self-published claims. We earn placements in the communities, threads, and editorial the engines pull from, without sounding like a vendor in someone else's community.

  5. §04.05

Measure to demos and pipeline, weekly.

Citation share by prompt, branded-search lift, and AI-attributed demo or signup requests. We report to the revenue line, not the rankings page.

§05: Common questions

AI SEO,
straight answers.

What does an AI SEO agency actually do?
An AI SEO agency gets your brand cited inside AI answers — the synthesized responses ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google's AI Overviews return instead of ten blue links. In practice that means three things: measuring where you currently stand on the prompts your buyers actually type, fixing the source pages and signals AI engines lift from (schema, llms.txt, comparison pages, the most-cited URLs), and earning the third-party citations — Reddit threads, review sites, editorial — that AI trusts more than your own domain. We do all three and report citation share weekly.
What's the difference between AI SEO, GEO, and traditional SEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AI SEO are the same practice under two names: optimizing for how AI engines answer, not how Google ranks. Traditional SEO competes for a position in a list of links; AI SEO competes to be a cited source inside a single generated answer. The technical foundation overlaps almost entirely — crawlability, schema, site speed, authority — but the content strategy diverges sharply. SEO rewards a few head terms; AI SEO rewards thousands of specific, factual answers the model can decompose a prompt into.
Do AI SEO services replace my existing SEO program?
Usually they consolidate it. The source-page, schema, and authority work overlaps with traditional SEO almost completely, so most clients fold the two together rather than run them in parallel. If you have an in-house SEO team that's performing, we plug in alongside it without duplicating work. We'll tell you honestly after the first audit which model makes sense for you.
How do you measure AI SEO results?
We track citation share — the percentage of your priority buyer prompts where your brand is named in the AI answer — across all five engines, weekly. Alongside it we watch branded-search lift (people Googling you after AI mentioned you) and demo or signup requests that self-report an AI source. We measure to pipeline, not to a rankings dashboard, because being cited is only useful if it moves revenue.
How long until we start showing up in AI answers?
Retrieval-based engines (Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Copilot) can reflect new and corrected content in days to weeks once it's crawled. Training-based answers in ChatGPT and Gemini move on the model's release cadence, so those shifts compound over months. Across recent engagements, the first measurable citation-share gains land inside the first month, with the larger moves through months three to six.
Is AI SEO worth it for a smaller brand?
Often more so. The cheapest time to become the default recommendation in your category is before everyone realizes there's a category to compete for. If AI engines are already answering shortlist questions in your space — and for most B2B and commercial categories they are — every week you wait is one a competitor is getting cited and you aren't. We'll tell you up front if your category isn't there yet and not worth the spend.
